ABOUT HomeBeing

An experiment in living

HomeBeing is a creative space for ideas about our relationships with ourselves, one another and the community of life.

About HomeBeing — soundscape

The project connects philosophy, sustainability, nature, inclusion and design with questions we encounter in everyday life. What do we notice? What do we value? What possibilities do we see? How do we think about life and ourselves?

From wonder to action

Stories about life can awaken wonder. Music can give feelings a voice. Reflections, ideas and a living dictionary invite us to reconsider assumptions we may not have realised were part of our thinking. Experiments bring these questions into everyday life, where we can try thinking differently and notice what happens.

Home is part of the world

Home has a special place in this project. It makes the connections between surroundings, habits, wellbeing and participation tangible. The things we use, access to a space and the conditions it creates for gathering, creativity or rest can support or hinder us. Home also belongs to larger systems of production, consumption and natural resources.

Caring for the community of life

For HomeBeing, sustainability means nurturing the conditions that make life possible: the ecosystems we depend on, human diversity, social relationships, care and shared responsibility.

HomeBeing offers ideas to try and questions to ask. You decide what to take with you, what to set aside and what to explore further.
