Imagination
Imagination is a superpower, and a fundamental condition for change. If we cannot imagine new possibilities, we will keep recycling familiar ideas. Designing the same spaces, keeping the same habits and holding the same assumptions about how life should be.
Home is a good place to practise imagination because it can offer safety, is close at hand and can be changed again if something does not work. We can move things around, paint a new colour, make a corner for an activity we want to cultivate, fill our homes with life through plants and shared meals, or use an object in a completely different way from its intended purpose. Then we can notice whether anything changes.
In HomeBeing, imagination is a bridge connecting design, ideas and life itself to a larger question: could practising how to imagine different surroundings, homes or spaces also strengthen our ability to imagine other ways of living?
